Description For Software Engineer, Infotainment Apps

Scout Motors is revolutionizing the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace. As a Software Engineer in the Infotainment Apps team, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing Android/AOSP-based IVI apps, frameworks, and services. This includes features like maps, navigation, EV charging, media, HVAC, audio, cameras, voice recognition, and more. You'll work closely with instrument cluster software engineers and mobile app engineers to provide a seamless HMI experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing Kotlin-based Android/AOSP/AAOS apps, frameworks, and SDKs
  • Delivering new features, enhancements, and bug fixes at high velocity
  • Leveraging test-driven development principles
  • Participating in code reviews and defining roadmaps
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of software development experience, with 5+ years in Android application development
  • Extensive understanding of Android OS, AOSP app optimization, and frameworks
  • Exceptional skills in Kotlin, Java, and Android Studio
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns
