Description For Staff Software Engineer, Infotainment Apps

Scout Motors is revolutionizing the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace. As a Staff Software Engineer in Infotainment Apps, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing Android/AOSP-based IVI apps, frameworks, and services. This includes maps, navigation, EV charging, media, HVAC, audio, cameras, voice recognition, and more. You'll work closely with instrument cluster and mobile app engineers to provide a seamless HMI experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement Kotlin-based Android/AOSP/AAOS apps, frameworks, and SDKs
  • Deliver new features, enhancements, and bug fixes at high velocity
  • Use test-driven development principles
  • Participate in code reviews and define coding standards
  • Author technical documentation and roadmaps
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Provide technical leadership within the engineering org

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
  • 7+ years of software development experience (5+ in Android)
  • Extensive knowledge of Android OS, AOSP, and frameworks
  • Exceptional skills in Kotlin, Java, and Android Studio
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
