Description For Senior Project Engineer

Shield AI is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our innovative team working on mission-critical DOD systems. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in supporting the Technical Program Manager to execute and deliver technical projects successfully. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage project activities, and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating project activities, communicating technical information to various stakeholders, preparing documentation, and identifying and mitigating risks. You'll work within a multidisciplinary team throughout the lifecycle of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) design and integration efforts.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in STEM, with at least 5 years of experience in related fields. You should be familiar with systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software development, and control theory. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities are crucial.

Responsibilities For Senior Project Engineer

  • Collaborate with the team to execute projects with speed, efficiency, and quality
  • Assist in the coordination of project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements
  • Communicate technical subject matter to experts, customers, and executives
  • Work within a team of multidisciplinary engineers throughout UAS design and integration efforts
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation
  • Assist in the development of executive-level status reports
  • Assist in resource allocation and management
  • Monitor project timelines and milestones
  • Identify potential technical and programmatic risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and report on risk factors affecting project progress
  • Identify process gaps and work to fill them

Requirements For Senior Project Engineer

  • B.S. Degree in a STEM field (Aerospace, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with concepts of systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software development, and control theory
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Experience with project management and technical communication
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to support travel up to 25%
  • Demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards
