Software Developer I

Sigma Defense is seeking an entry-level Software Developer to join their team supporting the Navy's software factory modernization initiative called FORGE. As a Software Developer I, you'll be working alongside government and contractor teams to develop software products that directly support Navy and FORGE professionals. The role requires 0-3 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. You'll be working with modern programming languages like Java, GoLang, or Rust, and will need to demonstrate proficiency with Linux and containerization technologies.

The ideal candidate should be a quick learner with strong communication skills, as you'll be working in a distributed team environment with primarily digital meetings. You'll follow Agile development methodologies, participate in full-stack development, and create unit tests. Knowledge of containerization technologies and experience with technical diagrams like UML are valuable assets.
