Description For Applied Machine Learning Engineer

Signify, formerly known as Philips Lighting, is seeking an Applied Machine Learning Engineer to join their Research group in Burlington, Massachusetts. This role represents an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of AI/ML and IoT, specifically in the context of connected lighting systems.

The position is part of Signify's center of excellence for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning innovation, where you'll be instrumental in driving AI/ML innovations for systems, new IoT propositions, and innovative applications. The role combines cutting-edge machine learning development with practical applications in IoT and connected lighting systems.

As an Applied Machine Learning Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing breakthrough AI-enabled IoT systems and services, working alongside research scientists to create proof-of-concept demonstrators, and building new applications that leverage connected lighting nodes across various environments including buildings, homes, cities, and industrial facilities.

The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, with strong programming skills in Python, Java, and SQL. Expertise in machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Sklearn, and Keras is essential, along with experience in natural language processing tools like BERT, GPT, and Spacy.

Responsibilities For Applied Machine Learning Engineer

  • Develop breakthrough AI-enabled IoT systems and services leveraging connected lighting
  • Work with research scientists to develop AI/ML solutions and proof-of-concept demonstrators

Requirements For Applied Machine Learning Engineer

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience with Python, Java, SQL
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning/Deep Learning including Supervised, Unsupervised methods
  • Experience with PyTorch, Sklearn, Matplotlib, Keras, numPy, pandas
  • Experience with Transformers (BERT, GPT), Spacy, Nltk
  • Knowledge of Docker, RESTful API, OOP
