Software Engineer II - Cloud Engineering

SimpliSafe is a high-tech home security company on a mission to keep Every Home Secure. We're building a new cloud engineering team in India, partnering with Kaamwork. As a Software Engineer II - Cloud Engineer, you'll develop and support our cloud infrastructure and application lifecycle framework. You'll work on centralized services like MongoDB, MariaDB, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, InfluxDB, Grafana, RabbitMQ, Artifactory, and GitHub actions infrastructure. Your role involves developing tools to simplify Kubernetes deployment for other engineering teams, enhancing cloud service utilization while prioritizing scalability and security.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and support cloud infrastructure and application lifecycle framework
• Own centralized services (databases, logging tools, metrics, messaging, etc.)
• Create tools to simplify Kubernetes deployment for other teams
• Ensure scalability and security of cloud services

Required skills and qualities:

• Proven track record with IAC and automating cloud solutions
• CI/CD first mindset
• Expertise in software builds and deployments automation
• Focus on logs, monitors, and alerts
• Strong understanding of HTTP protocol and REST APIs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Security-conscious approach
• Ability to balance new development and maintenance
• Eagerness to work in an agile environment
• Experience in IoT and microservices is a plus
