Description For Customer Reliability Engineer

Soracom, founded in 2015 by AWS veterans, is a leading player in IoT technology, connecting over two million devices worldwide. As a Customer Reliability Engineer (CRE) at Soracom, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing customer experience and driving customer anxiety to zero. You'll work closely with a passionate IoT team, supporting customers in building IoT solutions and shaping the future of this rapidly-growing industry.

Your responsibilities will include providing technical support, educating customers on Soracom's value proposition, offering architectural guidance, investigating technical issues, and collaborating on IoT-related content creation. You'll be highly regarded by customers as their primary source of in-depth technical expertise and support.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of technical support experience, familiarity with online communication tools and ticketing systems, and experience with web applications or programming. You should have excellent English communication skills, basic network knowledge, and experience with cloud services. Additional desirable skills include live troubleshooting experience, understanding of cellular network infrastructure, and experience with IoT ecosystems.

Responsibilities For Customer Reliability Engineer

  • Provide technical support to users implementing the Soracom platform
  • Educate customers on the value proposition of the Soracom platform
  • Provide architectural guidance to users scaling their applications
  • Work with engineers to investigate recurring technical issues
  • Collect customer feedback and suggest improvements for Soracom's platform services
  • Collaborate with other CREs and solutions architects to publish blogs, tutorials, and documentation related to IoT architecture

Requirements For Customer Reliability Engineer

  • 2-4 years of experience providing technical support
  • Experience with online communication tools like Slack or MS Teams
  • Experience with ticketing systems like Zendesk
  • Experience building web applications or programming and scripting
  • Outstanding English written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic network knowledge (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, DNS, HTTP, Wireshark, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
