Description For Senior Requirements Engineer

Space Systems Integration (SSI) is seeking an experienced Senior Requirements Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The role involves supporting a team of multi-disciplined engineers and analysts to coordinate with government and partner space operations and technical experts. You will develop OTTI and range strategies focused on capabilities-based requirements, work with other systems engineers to utilize developed requirements in support of architecture development, manage technical baseline processes and documentation, and align mission requirements for test, training, and tactics development purposes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with STARCOM, the Integrated Program Office (IPO), users, and other organizations on understanding and eliciting user needs and use cases.
  • Analyzing customer needs to translate into and refine high-level capability requirements.
  • Supporting IPO in plan development for requirement validation, verification, and test.
  • Managing capability requirements and providing oversight across IPO throughout lifecycle.
  • Coordinating development of IPO Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or related field with 14+ years of systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with requirements analysis, engineering, and tools (JAMA, DOORS).
  • Experience with DoD or government technical and mission requirements.
  • Security clearance requirements (T5 or SSBI, SCI eligibility).

Desired qualifications include 6+ years of Space experience, understanding of model-based engineering tools, and professional certifications.
