SpaceX is revolutionizing space technology with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars. As part of their ambitious projects, they're deploying Starlink, the world's most advanced broadband internet system, which currently serves over 5M+ users worldwide through the largest satellite constellation ever created.

The Data Engineer, Regulatory (Starlink) role is a critical position focused on building and maintaining mission-critical services and tools for the Starlink project. You'll be responsible for designing data infrastructure that simplifies and accelerates data accessibility across regulatory/licensing data and other vital Starlink information.

The role combines technical expertise with strategic thinking, as you'll be working to prevent data silos, automate time-intensive tasks, and create tools that enable self-service access across teams. You'll work directly with Starlink Regulatory and partner teams to assess future needs and position the company for continued growth.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer, Regulatory (Starlink)

  • Build tools and workflows that improve internal efficiency and collaboration
  • Automate time-intensive, repetitive tasks to significantly reduce manual effort
  • Fuse data from multiple unstructured sources to build organized, usable data repositories
  • Create shared tools that enable self-service access for data exploration and analysis
  • Build and maintain high quality automation for Starlink's policy objectives
  • Work closely with Starlink Regulatory and partner teams to assess future needs

Requirements For Data Engineer, Regulatory (Starlink)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, physics, mathematics, or a STEM discipline
  • 1+ years of experience in analytics, data science, data engineering, or software engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in Python and SQL
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirement)
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
