Responsibilities For Lead Facilities Engineer
- Lead and mentor a team of technicians focused on development, commissioning, and maintenance of SpaceX launch site facilities
- Develop and train direct reports for extreme ownership and empowered decision making
- Coordinate site development projects and partner with other groups
- Prepare and coordinate capital expenditure processes
- Manage external contractors and supplier selection
- Provide technical engineering support for construction/maintenance compliance
- Develop cost estimates, material requisitions, plans, and specifications
- Be proactive with team growth and department strategy
Requirements For Lead Facilities Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or construction management
- 2+ years of engineering experience in facilities, construction, aerospace, or manufacturing
- 1+ years of prior leadership experience
- Strong desire to mentor and develop employees
- Experience in facility maintenance and construction
- Ability to read/understand/create blueprints
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
- Physical requirements: ability to lift 30 lbs, operate forklifts and lifts
