SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Aerodynamics Engineer for their Starship program. The Starship Aerodynamics team is responsible for predicting the aerodynamics and aerothermal environments booster and ship experience during all phases of their missions. Aerodynamics engineers use engineering models, simulations and wind-tunnel testing to provide accurate predictions ahead of flight validation. The team works closely with the GNC (guidance, navigation, and control) team to enable safe landing and recovery of both Starship stages. They also support engineers responsible for vehicle structures during design efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in external, compressible fluid dynamics, with experience in aerodynamic and aerothermal analysis. They should be comfortable with tools like Siemens STAR-CCM+, NASA solvers for entry vehicles, and data processing in MATLAB or Python.
