Description For Sr. Hardware Development Engineer, Micro-Electronics (Starlink)

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer for their Starlink project in Redmond, WA. This role is crucial in developing next-generation Satellite RF Modules within their micro-electronics team. SpaceX's mission is to enable human life on Mars, and through Starlink, they're building the world's most advanced broadband internet system, currently serving over 5M+ users worldwide.

As a Senior Hardware Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing novel manufacturing processes for satellite RF Modules. Working in a clean room environment, you'll collaborate with electrical/mechanical design teams, vendors, and production associates to scale up micro-electronics manufacturing from initial development to high-volume production. This position requires expertise in micro-electronics processing, including die attach, plasma clean, wire-bond, and AOI.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of micro-electronics manufacturing experience, with hands-on clean room experience producing high-reliability RF modules. You'll need strong technical skills in micro-electronics manufacturing equipment, particularly die attach/wire bonding, and familiarity with industry standards like MIL-STD-883 and IPC-610.

This role offers competitive compensation ranging from $130,000 to $180,000 annually, plus comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k), stock options, and paid parental leave. You'll be part of a fast-paced team working on cutting-edge technology that's literally changing the world through space exploration and global internet connectivity.

The position requires ITAR compliance, meaning candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees. Join SpaceX to be part of a team that's making science fiction a reality while working on some of the most advanced aerospace technology in the world.
