Description For Trajectory Analysis Engineer (Starship)

SpaceX is revolutionizing space technology with the goal of enabling human life on Mars. As a Trajectory Analysis Engineer for the Starship program, you'll join an elite team working on the world's most advanced rockets. This role combines engineering expertise with creative problem-solving to ensure the success and safety of SpaceX's ambitious missions.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to directly impact the development of Starship, a fully reusable spacecraft designed for Mars missions. You'll analyze complex launch vehicle trajectories, develop flight plans, and work closely with various teams including operations, reliability, and hardware teams. The role requires expertise in orbital mechanics, classical dynamics, and programming skills in Python or C++.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of professional experience in trajectory analysis and aerodynamics, with a strong background in physics or engineering. You'll need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, solving complex problems independently, and communicating effectively with both internal teams and external partners like the FAA.

SpaceX offers competitive compensation ranging from $100,000 to $135,000 annually, depending on experience level. The benefits package includes comprehensive medical coverage, equity opportunities, 401(k), paid parental leave, and vacation time. This is a unique opportunity to be part of humanity's journey to Mars while working with cutting-edge technology and some of the industry's brightest minds.

The position requires ITAR compliance, meaning candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or qualified refugees/asylees. The role is based in Hawthorne, CA, and may require extended hours and weekend work as needed to support mission operations. Join SpaceX in making multi-planetary human life a reality.
