Description For Lead Hardware Engineer

Starling is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer to spearhead the development of electronic medical devices for digital urine diagnostics. This role combines EE hardware and embedded/firmware software development, requiring expertise in PCB design, embedded systems programming, and quality assurance for medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead EE product development, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Implement and maintain ISO13485 and IEC61010/IEC60601 standards
  • Manage relationships with overseas contract manufacturers
  • Prepare comprehensive product documentation

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree with 10+ years of industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical device standards and regulations
  • Familiarity with Nordic Semiconductor chips, Bluetooth LE, and Cellular/LTE
  • Experience with international manufacturing and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities For Lead Hardware Engineer

  • Lead EE hardware and embedded/firmware software development for electronic medical devices
  • Design, build and test PCBs for different projects
  • Program and troubleshoot embedded/firmware software
  • Source components and work with local and overseas suppliers
  • Complete product development including technical specifications, development, testing and design for production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products or improve existing ones
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance standards in all phases of product development and production
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas contract manufacturers
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive product documentation

Requirements For Lead Hardware Engineer

Linux
  • College degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of industry experience in EE product design, development and manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of ISO13485 and IEC61010 or IEC60601 standards
  • Familiarity with Nordic Semiconductor nRF52 and nRF91 chips and Nordic nRF SDK + Zephyr RTOS
  • Familiarity with wireless communication over Bluetooth Low Energy and Cellular/LTE
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel as needed (domestic and international)
