Strategic Legal Practices (SLP) is seeking a talented Software Data Engineer to drive innovation at the intersection of law and technology. The position requires expertise in building data pipelines, working with Palantir platforms (particularly Foundry), and implementing data integration solutions.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience and strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure). They will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver insights. Key technical requirements include experience with ETL/ELT tools, data modeling, machine learning frameworks (Scikit-learn, PyStan), and version control systems. Responsibilities For Data Engineer

  • Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines and integrations using modern tooling and APIs
  • Partner with analysts and business stakeholders to deliver self-service data solutions and insights
  • Own key data engineering projects across the firm, driving architecture and execution from inception to delivery
  • Ensure data quality, monitoring, governance, and platform reliability across environments
  • Support and maintain existing infrastructure using Python, Java, SQL, Ansible, and cloud orchestration tools
  • Diagnose issues, perform root-cause analyses, and implement preventative solutions

Requirements For Data Engineer

Python
  • B.S. degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or similar quantitative field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Experience with Palantir platforms (e.g., Foundry)
  • Strong background in data integration and building pipelines
  • Proficiency in Python and strong command of SQL and data modeling concepts
  • Experience with cloud environments such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like Scikit-learn and PyStan
  • Version control software such as Git
  • Command line tools such as Bash
