Senior Data Engineer

Stuart is a leading tech-enabled logistics platform transforming on-demand delivery across food, grocery, and retail sectors. Operating in over 130 cities across Europe, Stuart connects businesses with independent couriers for fast, flexible, and efficient deliveries.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join the Data Platform team, reporting to Miklos Horn, Engineering Manager, based in Barcelona. You'll collaborate with various analytical and engineering teams to provide solutions for the company's data needs. Your responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust Data Platform
• Developing self-serve data solutions for ingestion, transformation, visualization, and data protection
• Employing DataOps practices to enhance data quality, governance, and operational efficiency
• Sharing knowledge through pair programming, code reviews, and workshops
• Monitoring and optimizing data pipelines for performance and reliability

Requirements:

• Fluency in English
• 5+ years of experience working with Python
• Strong experience in designing and implementing data platforms
• Familiarity with Analytical Data Stores, including Data Lakes and Data Warehouses
• Solid knowledge of cloud services, particularly AWS

Preferred skills:

• Experience with container-based deployments (Kubernetes or Docker Compose)
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka or other streaming platforms
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform
• Experience with data visualization tools
• Background in incident management and response
• Understanding of service observability principles and tools
