Founding Software Engineer

SyntheticFi is revolutionizing the securities-backed lending industry with an innovative approach using box spreads financing. As a YCombinator-funded startup based in San Francisco with a global team, we're disrupting the traditional banking-dominated $1 trillion market.

As a Founding Software Engineer, you'll work directly with co-founders, particularly Tony (ex-Stripe senior software engineer), to build the foundation of our product. This role offers significant influence over product direction and company culture, with a path to becoming a tech lead.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity and capable of end-to-end feature development. Our tech stack includes NodeJS, Next.JS, TypeScript, Python, React, and PostgreSQL, with DevOps tools like Git, Linux on AWS, Vercel, and Sentry.

We're experiencing rapid growth, having reached over $150 million in Regulatory AUM within months of launch. Hundreds of financial advisors actively recommend our products to their clients, demonstrating strong market validation.

Key responsibilities include:

• End-to-end feature development from planning to user feedback
• Working effectively in a remote team setting
• Integration with third-party APIs
• Writing clean, maintainable code
• Contributing to technical architecture decisions

Ideal candidates will have:

• Strong proficiency in our full-stack technologies
• Experience with DevOps tools and environments
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Open source contributions (preferred)
• FinTech industry experience (preferred)
• 3+ years in fast-paced tech environments (preferred)
