Sysdig, a leading cloud security startup, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their innovative team. The company specializes in stopping attacks in real-time using runtime insights and open source Falco technology, serving a large enterprise customer base.

The role demands a seasoned professional with 8+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in C, C++, and Golang. You'll be instrumental in building performance-critical technology within Sysdig's edge components and cloud services, while also contributing to open source projects. The position requires deep knowledge of system and network security, Linux internals, and experience with Kubernetes and distributed systems.

As a technical leader, you'll guide other engineers, influence technical decisions, and work closely with various teams including threat research, quality, and product management. Responsibilities For Staff Software Engineer

  • Report to the Engineering Manager/Tech lead
  • Support engineering managers and be a technical leader
  • Build performance-critical bleeding edge technology within Sysdig edge components and cloud services
  • Architect and develop new real-time security detection and response features
  • Contribute and maintain Falco and other Open Source projects
  • Work with threat research, quality, product management teams, and customers

Requirements For Staff Software Engineer

Go
PostgreSQL
Redis
  • Experience with C, C++, Golang
  • Knowledge of system and network security, and Linux internals (kernel, eBPF)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and building scalable distributed systems
  • Exposure to performance programming, memory safety, or data processing
  • 8+ years of experience working as Software Engineer
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and ElasticSearch
  • Project ownership experience
  • Technical leadership experience
  • English fluency
