Description For Lead Data Engineer

Takeda Pharmaceuticals, a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join their team. The position involves leading critical data initiatives within the RDBU (Research & Development Business Unit), developing sophisticated data pipelines, and implementing cutting-edge solutions including AI and GenAI.

The ideal candidate will bring a master's degree and substantial experience in data engineering, particularly with AWS technologies, Hadoop, and large-scale data ecosystems. You'll be responsible for partnering with stakeholders to develop data product strategies, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, and leading technical solutions that drive business value.

Responsibilities For Lead Data Engineer

  • Partner with RDBU stakeholders to build business acumen and understand business strategy
  • Co-develop RDBU data product strategy
  • Develop and own product roadmaps
  • Analyze business requirements and evaluate solution options
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines following company standards
  • Lead technical solution reviews
  • Support complex data challenges
  • Take accountability for RDBU specific data products
  • Work with DevOps teams to operationalize data products
  • Design and mature data architectures within company's ecosystem
  • Lead implementation of emerging tools including analytics, AI and GenAI

Requirements For Lead Data Engineer

Python
  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Engineering or related field
  • 3 years of prior experience
  • Experience with AWS native technologies
  • Experience with Veeva and Elluminate for SDTM, ADaM and TLF data
  • Knowledge of Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands and Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases
  • Experience in designing, building and managing large scale data structures and pipelines
