This role is crucial in implementing system improvements and driving manufacturing excellence through automation and control systems. The position combines technical expertise in automation systems with leadership responsibilities, requiring both hands-on engineering work and team guidance.

The role involves working with various control systems including DeltaV, EBM, PLC/HMI, and BAS, while partnering closely with Process Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for system administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of control systems, ensuring smooth manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities For Sr. Automation Engineer

  • Implement systems to improve manufacturing KFAs by building strong partnership with floor leadership
  • Perform user interventions (UI) to ensure continuous manufacturing process flow
  • Solve automation system and manufacturing equipment issues
  • Lead day-to-day troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation
  • Own and close corrective actions related to the automation system
  • Update Standard Operation and Preventive Maintenance Procedures
  • Lead automation scope for large-scale programs and multiple small projects
  • Support PLC/HMI based control systems
  • Perform financial planning and project approval analysis
  • Conduct regular audits and revise SOPs/specifications
  • Train staff on control systems functionality and automation

Requirements For Sr. Automation Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline (Computer, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in process design, controls engineering and process automation systems
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with Rockwell (HMI/PLC), DeltaV and BAS (Desigo)
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends
  • Must be able to work 100% onsite
  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning
