Responsibilities For Additive Engineer, Die Shop
- Hands on operations of Additive Manufacturing (AM) machines and post-processing
- Collaborate with tool design engineers to develop and optimize parts
- Work with AM machine manufacturers to develop process specifications and printing parameters
- Characterize fabricated parts to understand defects and mechanical properties
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and correct issues associated with process or equipment
- Provide input for new product development
Requirements For Additive Engineer, Die Shop
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials, or other engineering sciences, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in operating Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) equipment
- Metal AM process knowledge in making successful builds
- Experience with metal alloys commonly applied in tooling and automotive industries
- Fluent with 3D CAD software (Solidworks, Creo, etc.)
- Proficient in using 3DXperts and other software for AM design
- Knowledge of post printing processes for metal 3D printed parts
