Description For Engineering Technician, Cell Cathode Engineering

Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician for their Cell Cathode Engineering team in Fremont, California. This role is crucial in developing innovative cell products to accelerate sustainable energy adoption. The ideal candidate should have hands-on chemistry lab experience and be prepared to conduct daily testing on various materials.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Characterizing powder materials using various techniques (acid-base titration, BET, SEM, PSD, XRD, etc.)
  • Performing electrochemical characterization of powder materials
  • Managing and processing data using a data system
  • Assisting in optimizing testing parameters and developing new methods
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment
  • Drafting SOPs and preparing experiment reports

The ideal candidate should bring:

  • Hands-on experience in chemistry or biology labs
  • Equipment calibration and maintenance skills
  • Quick learning ability and efficiency in meeting goals
  • Meticulous attitude towards data tracking and communication
  • Willingness to collaborate and take on challenges
  • Ability to stay engaged during repetitive tasks
  • Physical capabilities such as standing for long periods, occasional lifting of 20-40lbs, and movement between lab spaces
