Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician to support vehicle-level homologation test activities, with a focus on Range testing. This role is crucial in driving Tesla's worldwide rollout of new vehicles by applying knowledge of Tesla vehicle systems and diagnostics to configure and diagnose vehicles for range tests. The position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage projects along a fluid schedule.
Based in Merritt Island, Florida, this full-time role involves up to 50% travel to various domestic and international destinations for vehicle testing on public roads, test tracks, and Proving Grounds. The ideal candidate must be flexible to work morning, mid, and night shifts as needed.
Key responsibilities include preparing prototype and production vehicles for Homologation range tests, performing diagnostics and repairs, maintaining vehicle preparation timelines, and generating test reports. The role also involves designing and building new instrumentation or test equipment as required.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as an Engineering technician, Service, Test technician, or Manufacturing technician at Tesla or another OEM, along with a 2-year technical/automotive degree. In-depth knowledge of electric vehicle systems, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential.
