Tesla is seeking a Field Reliability Engineer for their Drive Units team, focusing on improving customer experience through quality assurance and problem-solving. This role combines hands-on engineering with analytical expertise, specifically targeting Tesla's electric vehicle components including inverters, motors, and gearboxes.

Responsibilities For Field Reliability Engineer, Drive Units

  • Drive issue resolution from root cause analysis to countermeasure implementation
  • Identify root cause by performing detailed hands-on failure analysis
  • Design and conduct experiments on drive units
  • Analyze and interpret field and diagnostic logs/data
  • Monitor product field performance
  • Provide upfront feedback in design reviews
  • Collaborate with engineers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers

Requirements For Field Reliability Engineer, Drive Units

Python
  • Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Prior applicable experience in Failure Analysis, Quality, Service in consumer electronics or automotive
  • Exceptional problem solving and Failure Analysis skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Ability to use tools and business system applications
  • Programming knowledge in Python
  • Broad technical background
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
