Tesla's Drive Inverter Firmware team is seeking an exceptional Embedded Firmware Engineer to join their innovative team in developing critical systems for electric vehicles. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of power electronics and software engineering, directly impacting the future of sustainable transportation.

The position involves developing real-time embedded firmware for power electronics and motor controls, which are fundamental to Tesla's vehicle operations. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology and collaborating with hardware and controls teams to architect, implement, test, and deploy safety-critical software for both next-generation products and existing systems.

As an Embedded Firmware Engineer, you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of firmware development, from initial concept through integration, testing, and release to Tesla's growing fleet of vehicles. The role requires strong technical skills in C programming, understanding of electrical systems, and knowledge of microcontroller peripherals.   • Development of real-time embedded software for Drive Inverter control and safety management
  • Develop automated tests for software quality assurance
  • Participate in full firmware development lifecycle from concept to release

Requirements For Power Electronics Embedded Firmware Engineer, Drive Inverter

  • 1+ years of real-time embedded software development experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in C programming language
  • Experience with electrical schematics and circuit behavior
  • Knowledge of microcontroller peripherals (ADC, GPIO, PWM, SPI)
  • Familiarity with control loops and PID controllers
  • Knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins) preferred
  • Familiarity with Hazard and Risk Assessment (HARA) and/or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) preferred
