Description For Sr Data Engineer, Fleet Analytics

Tesla's Fleet Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their central team that helps leverage data collected from Tesla's vehicles, robots, Superchargers, and energy storage devices. This role is crucial in improving autopilot, optimizing hardware designs, and proactively detecting faults. You'll work with a modern tech stack including AWS, S3, Spark, and Trino, utilizing open-source data science tools like Jupyter notebooks, Pandas, and Airflow.

The position offers an opportunity to directly impact Tesla's products and enable hundreds of engineers across the company. You'll be responsible for identifying, computing, predicting, and communicating core metrics about Tesla's vehicle products, while driving cross-functional efforts to improve these metrics. The role requires a unique blend of electrical architecture understanding and software engineering skills to build reliable data pipelines and applications.

  • Build applications and data pipelines that optimize efficiency and accuracy of analysis over petabytes of data
  • Design and implement metrics, applications and tools for engineers' self-serve data insights
  • Write clean and tested code that can be maintained and extended
  • Provide guidance to Tesla's Data Engineering and Data Science community
  • Keep up to date on relevant technologies and frameworks

Requirements For Sr Data Engineer, Fleet Analytics
