Tesla's Manufacturing Engineering team is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development of coating booths and material handling processes. Responsibilities For Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Coating Booths

  • Lead conveyance & material handling development from concept to serial production
  • Lead research and development of advanced conveyance technologies
  • Lead conveyance release through detailed equipment specification
  • Develop detailed material flow models for new products/shops
  • Develop innovative, cost-effective solutions with the packaging/material flow team
  • Lead detailed line design & layout based on process requirements
  • Lead process verification for conveyance
  • Lead product design for manufacturability (DFM) and sustainability
  • Design, engineer, and manage large-scale projects for new programs

Requirements For Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Coating Booths

  • 5+ years experience in technology-based industry with automated methods in finishing/coating
  • Experience with functional/aesthetic coating processes
  • Experience with high-volume conveyance & material handling systems
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Catia, SolidWorks, Inventor, Navisworks, Revit, or AutoCAD)
  • Proficient with 3D dynamic simulation software (WinMod)
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering
  • Willing to travel 25-50%
