Description For Sr. Technical Program Manager, Semi Drive Systems

Tesla is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager for Semi Drive Systems to lead engineering programs related to Tesla Semi drive axle. The role involves managing sustaining projects and new drive axle launches, driving design completion, parts ordering, supporting engineering builds, sub-systems validation, and production launches. The TPM will work with cross-functional teams across different continents to prioritize and manage high-impact changes and drive improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as Engineering Program owner for Semi Drive Axle program launches and design improvements
  • Managing Semi build plans, parts logistics, and supporting engineering build execution
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage changes
  • Maintaining project schedules and tracking key metrics
  • Leading development of testing and validation timelines, DFMEAs, and DVP&R's
  • Collaborating with other vehicle system teams on product updates
  • Documenting lessons learned and extending best practices across projects

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in project management for complex mechanical/electro-mechanical products
  • Experience in the automotive/trucking industry (desired), with drivetrain experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and technical communication skills
  • Experience analyzing product metrics, business cases, and schedules for large-scale implementation
