Description For Staff IoT Network Engineer, Materials Manufacturing Network Engineering

Tesla is seeking a Staff IoT Network Engineer for their Materials Manufacturing Network Engineering team. This role focuses on network engineering in an industrial environment, providing engineering, implementation, analytical, and operational support. The successful candidate will lead the IoT Network Engineering team on designs, production deployments, and initiatives while maintaining current network solutions within manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a Tier 2-3 escalation point for complex network issues
  • Gathering requirements and proposing solutions for networking needs in materials manufacturing
  • Implementing and maintaining networking services remotely
  • Supporting Project Bobcat (Cathode) and Project Lynx
  • Improving cybersecurity posture of the Materials Division
  • Becoming proficient in Emerson DeltaV and DCS control systems

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in production industrial or manufacturing networking infrastructure
  • Extensive experience with IP networking, industrial switching technologies, and protocols
  • Working experience with distributed control system (DCS) networks in manufacturing
  • Experience with various network tools and automation scripts
  • CCNP or CCNA Industrial certifications (preferred)

  • Lead the IoT Network Engineering team on designs, production deployments, and initiatives
  • Maintain current network solutions within manufacturing sites
