Tesla is seeking a Tool & Die Engineer for their Cybertruck Press operations at Gigafactory Texas (GFTX). Responsibilities For Tool & Die Engineer, Cybertruck, Press
- Review die processes for parts to meet cost, quality targets & production goals
- Adhere to simulation guidelines & die design standards
- Make detailed studies & provide recommendations for process and feasibility issues
- Assess automation blank loading and transfer arms
- Direct tool changes to tune dies per dimensional quality
- Ensure dies meet production process intent
- Perform vendor die design reviews
- Oversee package of work through home line activities
- Develop inventory for spare details, punches & buttons
- Ensure production readiness of dies, scrap shed, SPM
Requirements For Tool & Die Engineer, Cybertruck, Press
- Good understanding of press/stamping processes & die design
- Knowledge of material properties for aluminum & steel
- 2+ Years of simulation / die design experience in class 'A' parts
- Experience with aluminum & steel, die build/tryout
- Ability to work with and lead others in a collaborative team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Project
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
