Description For Material and Process Engineer

Textum OPCO, LLC is hiring a Material and Process Engineer for its Dayton, OH composite manufacturing operation. This is an early-career level position supporting development and production activities related to composite part manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience working around hot ovens/furnaces and knowledge of proper chemical handling practices. Responsibilities include process documentation, part fabrication, internal and external communication, supplier coordination, technician leadership, and shop management. The role involves hands-on activities such as kitting, molding, equipment maintenance, fabrication, and assembly. The engineer will work with various chemicals, fluids, and compressed gases, following OSHA standards. They will support both production and R&D activities, conduct quality control, and have the opportunity to grow into sales, marketing, R&D, and quality control roles. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, US citizenship, and willingness to obtain a US DoD Security Clearance. Experience with SolidWorks, composite materials, and high-temperature composites is advantageous. Responsibilities For Material and Process Engineer

  • Generate and prepare prints, work orders, and other documents and communicate them to technicians
  • Train and lead technicians to complete tasks
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering supplies
  • Support both production and R&D activities
  • Conduct quality control on finished parts and identify/document defects
  • Work with a variety of chemicals, fluids, and compressed gases and follow all OSHA standards
  • Ensure safety guidelines are followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • Learn high temperature composite processing including C/C and CMCs
  • Learn advanced textile weaving operations

Requirements For Material and Process Engineer

  • Must be an exclusive US Citizen
  • Must be willing and able to apply for and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • General mechanical/technical aptitude and good manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment autonomously and under pressure
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to solve problems using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks
  • Can work well with others in a diverse group and foster a cooperative work environment
  • Possess a working knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery
  • Pass a drug test
  • Pass a background check
