Description For Professional Engineer, Civil - Roadway / Municipal

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Roadway & Utilities / Municipal projects
  • Lead projects to improve the infrastructure of MN communities
  • Optimize planning, design, and construction activities to control costs and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with the Civil Group Manager, Market Managers, and the Vice President of Surface Transportation Engineering
  • Contribute to the development of marketing plans
  • Cultivate and maintain relations with clients and agency representatives
  • Track prospective opportunities
  • Deliver client presentations
  • Travel for site visits or community meetings within the Duluth and northland area

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota
  • 5-10 years of related experience supporting design and inspection for roadways, highways, sidewalks, utilities and/or other municipal projects
  • Strong working knowledge of the project development process
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and knowledge of permit application processes
  • Experience and understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) reviews for civil projects
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional registration in additional states (Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Iowa preferred)
  • Experience in utilities coordination related to design, location verification and relocation
