Description For Traffic Engineer

TKDA is seeking a Professional Engineer, Civil - Traffic to join their growing Surface Transportation team. The ideal candidate will work on complex transportation infrastructure systems for the Department of Transportation, local agencies, and design-build contractors. This role offers a flexible work arrangement (3 days in office / 2 days WFH) and will be based in the new TKDA HQ moving to the South Loop Bloomington neighborhood.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading traffic-related design and plan development
  • Conducting analyses using simulation and modeling software
  • Creating production of plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Collaborating with engineers, designers, and technicians

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5 to 8 years of related experience
  • Professional Engineer registration in Minnesota (or ability to obtain within six months)
  • Experience in traffic-related projects
  • Strong CADD software knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PTOE Certification or interest in obtaining it
  • Design-Build experience
  • Experience in transportation system and corridor alternatives
  • Traffic operations analysis, forecasting, and modeling experience
  • Knowledge of traffic analysis software
  • Project Management and Business Development experience
