Staff Software Engineer, Android

Toast is seeking a Staff Android Software Engineer to join their Consumer Pay team, focusing on revolutionizing how guests interact and pay digitally with restaurants. As a Staff Android Software Engineer, you'll be instrumental in developing the next generation of consumer payment experiences, working alongside a Principal Android software developer to achieve feature parity and run experiments. The role involves building innovative features on top of Toast's point of sale system and consumer-facing applications.

Toast processes billions of dollars in payments through mobile consumer experiences, making this role crucial for the company's growth. You'll be working on consumer payment initiatives, creating an excellent Android app that complements the iOS app and delivers an exceptional digital payment experience. Additionally, you'll develop restaurant-facing experiences on the point of sale system that staff will use to interact with guests using Android and iOS consumer apps.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of Android development experience and extensive knowledge of Java/Kotlin. You should have a proven track record of shipping production services while maintaining platform stability. The role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset for working in a team environment with a shared codebase.
