Travelers, a leading property casualty insurer with over 160 years of history, is seeking a Software Engineer I to join their technology transformation journey. This role offers an opportunity to work on developing and maintaining critical insurance technology systems using modern tech stack including .Net, MERN, and AWS. The position combines hands-on development with systems design and troubleshooting responsibilities.

The role offers a competitive salary range of $96,400 - $159,100, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance from day one, 401(k) matching, pension plan, and generous PTO. The position supports hybrid work arrangements across multiple locations including St. Paul, Hartford, and Hunt Valley.

As a Software Engineer I, you'll be responsible for end-to-end engineering tasks, from development and analysis to testing and implementation. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of programming experience, with cloud engineering knowledge (particularly AWS) being a plus. You'll work with both relational and NoSQL databases, and have the opportunity to work with modern technologies like Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes.
