This is an engineering support position. The Senior Engineering Designer will assist UDCE in the design and submission of joint trench, electric, gas, and telecommunication infrastructure that serves a variety of project sites. This role involves strong communication with the project management and design teams, and a solid understanding of utility constraints and requirements.
Required Qualifications: · Fluent knowledge of basic construction documents and exhibits · Skilled knowledge of basic 2D AutoCad, Microsoft Office and Bluebeam · Professional communication skills · Skilled knowledge and application of PG&E's Greenbook
Responsibilities: Extensive use of CAD to create and edit Construction Documents and Exhibits, most commonly Joint Trench Intents. Coordinate across multiple design disciplines in accordance with design standards of various agencies and municipalities. Prepare and support the submission of UDCE's dry utility application packages, and follow-up to ensure movement forward of applications, manage partial or revised submittals. High reliability, responsiveness, consistency, and collaborative communication with the team is required.
Work Environment: Hybrid remote work (75%); Some office work and site visits (25%)
Required Experience and Education: Engineering Degree, 2-year or 4-year. Equivalent work experience can be considered in lieu of educational achievement.
