Description For Data Engineer - OpenData Commercial

Veeva Systems, a leading SaaS company in the life sciences industry with over $2B in revenue, is seeking a Data Engineer for their OpenData Commercial team. This role is based in Seoul, South Korea, and is part of their R&D Opendata Dev Asia division. As a Data Engineer, you'll be instrumental in creating sophisticated data pipelines and working with cloud-based environments to support Veeva's mission of helping life sciences companies bring therapies to patients faster.

The position requires a blend of technical expertise and collaborative skills, with a focus on building reusable and configurable data pipelines. You'll work closely with data scientists on AI/ML implementations, create documentation, and provide guidance to junior engineers. Responsibilities For Data Engineer - OpenData Commercial

  • Design and build reusable and configurable data pipelines using cloud-based and proprietary data platforms
  • Work with data scientists to develop AI/ML proofs of concept into full implementations
  • Create documentation and provide informal training for data analysts
  • Work with other engineering and product teams to understand proprietary platforms
  • Provide guidance to more junior data engineers on best practices
  • Work with security teams to ensure resources meet security requirements

Requirements For Data Engineer - OpenData Commercial

Python
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related subject
  • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering roles
  • Experience developing sophisticated data pipelines in cloud-based environments (e.g. AWS)
  • Data modeling experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work with others
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in English
