Responsibilities For Data Engineer - Research and Clinical Data
- Design, maintain, and optimize data models to create robust, research-ready datasets
- Build and maintain data pipelines for data extraction, transformation and loading using cloud technologies
- Develop and maintain data warehouses, databases, and data lakes
- Implement data validation, cleaning, and monitoring processes
- Create custom dashboards and visualizations for stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, FDA)
- Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to support research goals
- Establish and enforce data governance policies
Requirements For Data Engineer - Research and Clinical Data
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering in healthcare or clinical research
- Expert level proficiency with Python/R
- Strong SQL and database design skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, CDISC, OMOP)
- Experience with unstructured data processing and transformation
- Strong understanding of end-to-end clinical data collection processes
- Experience working with genomic data, imaging data, and wearable device data
