Voodoo, a leading mobile gaming and app company with 800 employees and 7 billion downloads, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for their Streaming Platform. As part of the Ad-Network Team, a dynamic squad of 30 professionals including software engineers and data scientists, you'll play a crucial role in monetizing inventory through advertising partnerships. The position offers full remote work within EMEA countries.
The role focuses on building and maintaining sophisticated real-time data pipelines that process billions of events daily. You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies like Kafka, Flink, and Kubernetes to architect and implement scalable solutions for bidstream data, auction logs, and user behavior tracking. The position requires expertise in distributed systems, stream processing, and programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python.

Responsibilities For Senior Data Engineer - Streaming Platform
- Design, implement, and optimize real-time data pipelines handling billions of events per day
- Architect data flows for bidstream data, auction logs, impression tracking and user behavior data
- Build scalable and reliable event ingestion and processing systems
- Operate data infrastructure on Kubernetes
- Collaborate with backend to integrate OpenRTB signals
- Ensure high-throughput, low-latency processing, and system resilience
- Design and manage event schemas and schema evolution strategies
- Implement observability, alerting, and performance monitoring
- Mentor other engineers and advocate for best practices
- Evaluate new tools, trends, and techniques
Requirements For Senior Data Engineer - Streaming Platform
- Extensive experience in data or backend engineering, with at least 2+ years building real-time data pipelines
- Proficiency with stream processing frameworks like Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, Beam
- Strong programming experience in Java, Scala, or Python
- Deep understanding of event streaming and messaging platforms
- Solid experience operating data services in Kubernetes
- Experience with Protobuf/Avro and schema evolution
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and infrastructure-as-code
- Strong debugging skills and a bias for building reliable, self-healing systems
