Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Software Engineer Specialist to join their TCOS (Train Control Office Suite) team within the Signaling & Systems P&L in Digital Intelligence group. This role offers an opportunity to work with a global leader in transportation technology with nearly four centuries of collective experience across Wabtec, GE Transportation, and Faiveley Transport.

The position involves working on critical software systems for train control, requiring expertise in .NET development, desktop applications, and database management. You'll be part of a dedicated team of professionals committed to delivering high-quality results, working on complex challenges that directly impact the transportation industry.

As a Software Engineer Specialist, you'll be responsible for designing and developing customer features and components, leveraging best practices while demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in .NET technologies, SQL, and modern software development practices, along with strong collaborative and communication skills.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in object-oriented development and 1+ years in the railroad industry. You'll work in an Agile environment, participating in daily standups, coding sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements For Software Engineer Specialist

  • Master's or Bachelor's in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science, Instrumentation, or equivalent
  • 2+ years in Object-oriented design/development
  • 1+ years in Railroad industry
  • Proficient in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software design
  • Experience with Visual Studio and debugging tools
  • Understanding of CI/CD practices
  • Experience with .NET Windows/Desktop applications, VB.NET, Winforms, WPF, SQL
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Visio, SonarQube, GitHub Copilot
