Group Director, Software Engineering

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Group Director of Software Engineering to lead the technology strategy and development for walmart.com's Discovery Experience, including Home Page, Deals, Search & Browse, Item Page, Subscriptions & CMS. This strategic senior technology leader will manage both onshore and offshore engineering teams, driving technical excellence and innovation. The role involves close collaboration with executives and cross-functional teams, including Product, UX, and Digital Strategy.

The position offers an opportunity to shape the future of retail technology at scale, working with modern cloud-native technologies to deliver impactful digital transformation. The successful candidate will lead teams creating reusable technologies for customer acquisition, merchant empowerment, and seamless stakeholder experiences while optimizing for Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy.

Located in either Sunnyvale, CA or Bentonville, AR, this role offers competitive compensation ($254,000-$481,000 in Sunnyvale, $195,000-$370,000 in Bentonville) plus performance bonuses and equity.
