Staff, Software Engineer (Back End) | Marketplace

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Global Marketplace Engineering team in Sunnyvale, CA. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines exceptional coding skills with the ability to guide and mentor other engineers.

The position is within the Marketplace Engineering team, which is responsible for building core platforms and services that enable third-party sellers to sell on walmart.com. The team manages the entire seller lifecycle, monitors customer experience, and delivers valuable insights to sellers for optimizing their business operations.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for architecting complex software systems, ensuring they meet performance, security, and scalability requirements. The role requires 10-14 years of experience in designing and developing highly-scalable applications, with particular expertise in Java, Springboot, and Microservices. You'll need strong knowledge of distributed systems, databases (both RDBMS and NoSQL), and modern cloud technologies.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $143,000 to $286,000 annually, plus performance bonuses and stock options. Walmart offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, stock purchase plans, and paid parental leave.
