This role is crucial in developing platform capabilities using cutting-edge GenAI technologies that will impact 2.2M Walmart associates worldwide. As part of the Enterprise People Technology team within Walmart Global Tech, you'll work on building reusable and extensible platform services using Python, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems. The position offers the opportunity to work with applied researchers and data scientists to implement cutting-edge GenAI solutions. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring expertise in Python, web services, and modern software development practices. Responsibilities For Staff, Software Engineer, GenAI Platform
- Contribute to design and development of platform features with microservices and event-driven architecture
- Uphold engineering and operational excellence standards
- Stay up to date with GenAI and adopt new solutions and best practices
- Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to implement GenAI research
- Be an active team member
- Support production operations through on-call rotations
Requirements For Staff, Software Engineer, GenAI Platform
- Expert-level Python programming skills
- Experience designing and building Python-based web services in production
- Familiar with Git version control
- Comfortable working with Linux and containers
- 4+ years of industry experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with GenAI-based applications (preferred)
- Experience with JavaScript (React, Node.js) (preferred)
- Experience with large-scale data pipelines (preferred)
