Description For Full-Stack Software Engineer (2+ years experience: International-Americas)

Wanderlog helps make leisure travel easier by building tools that lower the bar to travel experiences. As a full-stack software engineer, you'll join a team of 8 (including 7 engineers and 1 designer) working on their top-ranked trip planning app and related travel tools.

The role involves building new features for both web and mobile platforms using Javascript (Typescript), React, React Native, and Node.js/Express. You'll own portions of the product end-to-end - from designing features based on traveler needs to implementing them while ensuring code quality through typing and testing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing new features for website and mobile app
  • Designing and deciding what to build based on user needs
  • Building data pipelines to process travel information
  • Writing tests and maintaining engineering infrastructure
  • Debugging, fixing bugs, and scaling systems
  • Code review and collaboration with team

You'll work on exciting projects like:

  • Creating user-friendly hotel booking interfaces
  • Building AI-powered tools to summarize travel content
  • Optimizing the React Native mobile app performance
  • Developing Chrome extensions for travel planning
  • Improving collaboration and social features

The team values work-life balance and has twice annual travel offsites. They practice continuous shipping, user-focused development, and maintain a collaborative environment where engineers participate in product decisions.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of full-stack experience, is comfortable with React/React Native, and is passionate about building products that help people travel. You should be entrepreneurial, adaptable with new technologies, and share the team's belief in travel as a positive force.

The company is self-sustaining and founded by twin brothers with experience from Stripe, McKinsey, and Google. They've previously built successful travel products and are committed to making travel planning easier for millions of monthly users.
