Description For Full-Stack Software Engineer (2+ years experience: International-Americas)

Wanderlog helps make leisure travel easier by building tools that lower the bar to travel experiences. As a full-stack software engineer, you'll join a team of 8 (including 7 engineers and 1 designer) working on their top-ranked trip planning app and related travel tools.

The role involves building new features for both web and mobile platforms using Javascript (Typescript), React, React Native, and Node.js/Express. You'll own portions of the product end-to-end - from designing features based on traveler needs to implementing them while considering technical trade-offs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing new features for the website and mobile app
  • Designing and deciding what to build based on user needs and growth goals
  • Building data pipelines to process travel information from various sources
  • Writing tests and maintaining engineering infrastructure
  • Debugging, fixing bugs, and scaling as needed
  • Reviewing code from other engineers
  • Finding efficient ways to ship new features quickly while managing technical debt

The ideal candidate has:

  • 2+ years of full-stack product development experience
  • Strong Javascript skills with React/React Native expertise
  • End-to-end product building experience and user empathy
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies as needed
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and excitement for startup environment
  • Passion for travel and its positive impact

The team values work-life balance with regular hours, team lunches, and twice annual travel offsites. They have a collaborative culture focused on continuous shipping, user feedback, and smart prioritization. The founders bring experience from Stripe, McKinsey, and Google, creating an environment that combines the best practices from their backgrounds.

The interview process includes:

  1. Asynchronous programming challenge
  2. Coding interview with practical programming task
  3. Second coding interview
  4. Full-day virtual onsite

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, profitable startup that's already serving millions of travelers monthly while maintaining a healthy work culture centered around their shared love of travel.
