Warp is revolutionizing back-office operations for startups through their automated platform. As a YC-backed company that has raised $24M from prestigious investors including Elad Gil, Drew Houston, and others, Warp is on an impressive growth trajectory, targeting $1BN in annual payroll transactions by 2025.
As a Backend Engineer at Warp, you'll be at the forefront of developing crucial payroll infrastructure and product features. The role demands someone who can build performant, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems capable of processing billions of dollars globally. You'll work directly with the CTO and CEO, having significant ownership as the company redesigns its tech stack and scales 10x in the next year.
The ideal candidate should have a deep love for programming, obsess over details, and be product-minded with an emphasis on end-user experience. You'll need strong expertise in modern programming languages (especially strongly typed ones), experience with complex codebases, and knowledge of modern infrastructure and deployment methods.
Working at Warp isn't your typical 9-5 job. The role requires high ownership, potential late-night deployments, and a commitment to high craftsmanship. The team works 5 days in person at their beautiful SoHo office in New York City, collaborating with an incredibly driven and top-tier team.
This opportunity offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technology, shape the future of back-office automation, and be part of a rapidly growing startup that's already serving some of the fastest-growing companies. The role combines technical challenges with real business impact, making it perfect for engineers who want to build something meaningful while working alongside exceptional talent.
