Senior Software Engineer (Backend, E-commerce)

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer joining the WHOOP e-commerce platform team, you will develop the core infrastructure responsible for both order fulfillment and subscription management. You will work closely with our systems team to ensure our integrations are scalable, maintainable, and adaptive to the global market. This role requires a strong knowledge of backend architecture and API design.

Key responsibilities include:

• Executing WHOOP's vision to build/scale an ecommerce platform
• Contributing to backend development using Java, AWS, and Postgres
• Interfacing with e-commerce platforms like CommerceTools and Stripe
• Working collaboratively in a business growth environment
• Consistently delivering features and code with an iterative approach
• Coaching and up-leveling engineers through mentorship

Qualifications:

• Experience with large scale software systems
• Expertise in API design and development (Java preferred)
• Proficiency in relational database design and SQL
• Strong skills in translating design specifications into functional applications
• Positive attitude and ownership mentality
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in the e-commerce domain
