xAI is seeking an Application Security Engineer to join their mission of creating AI systems that understand the universe. This role combines traditional application security with cutting-edge AI security challenges. As part of a small, highly motivated team with a flat organizational structure, you'll be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of cloud-native applications and AI systems.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $440,000 USD and requires 3-5 years of experience in application security. You'll work on critical security initiatives including code reviews, implementing secure coding practices, and addressing AI-specific security concerns, particularly focusing on the OWASP LLM Top 10.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in Python or Rust, experience with security testing tools, and a deep understanding of secure coding practices. You'll work at the intersection of application security and AI, helping to secure both traditional applications and machine learning systems.
