Operational Safety Data Engineer

Zoox, an innovative autonomous vehicle company, is seeking an Operational Safety Data Engineer to join their team in Foster City, CA. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and safety operations, focusing on building and maintaining critical safety systems for Zoox's autonomous vehicle fleet. The position offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $200,000, plus additional compensation through Amazon RSUs and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for aggregating, analyzing, and presenting data to inform risk-based safety processes as Zoox scales its service operations. Working closely with System Design & Mission Assurance, Operations, PMO, Software, Hardware, and Legal teams, you'll ensure a rigorous, disciplined approach to safety. This role requires strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and data analysis tools, combined with a deep understanding of safety-critical systems.

The position offers exciting opportunities to develop new methodologies for safety risk evaluation, create and maintain safety operations dashboards, and directly impact the safety of autonomous vehicle operations.
