If you get promoted, does your pay get reevaluated?

How does it work - Is it just a certain percentage or is there something more ad-hoc that could even be negotiated?

Pretty much every company will increase your pay after getting promoted. It varies from company to company how the increase works. Some will be more ad-hoc and others have turned it into math   Startups/very small companies will be ad-hoc   Big companies will have it be math IMHO, math is better as it's inherently more fair
